Don’t forget that tonight, August 3, 2009, Troop Meetings are starting up again. You can wear your yellow T-shirts for the rest of the summer if you like. We will be discussing having Troop elections, a Court of Honor, and this month’s campout at Cedar Hill State Park.

Also, if you would like to attend the Scout Night at the Mesquite Rodeo this Saturday night bring $15 per adult ticket and $9 per child ticket so we can have the tickets ordered by tomorrow night. I will not be able to go because of my Party Pets schedule, so we will also have to be sure we have at least two adults going before we can order the tickets.

James Lewis and his father

Troop membership runs in cycles.  It’s been more than a year since our last Eagle Court of Honor.  James Lewis completed his project in March, passed the Eagle Board of Review in April.  His Court of Honor, just after summer camp, capped a very busy and constructive first half of the year.

The COH was held in the sanctuary of First Christian Church (DOC) of Duncanville.

Eagle Scout rank pin

Join Troop 355, supporters and parents, this Saturday at a special Court of Honor for James Lewis.  James will receive his Eagle rank.

3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at First Christian Church (DOC) of Duncanville, 203 South Main Street.  Refreshments and fellowship follow in the Fellowship Hall.

That “355″ is supposed to be there — it marks 355 feet down the third base line to the foul pole in left field.  Still, it’s nice to know the number gets around.

Troop 355 meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m., at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Duncanville, 203 South Main, in Duncanville, Texas.

Membership is open to any boy who has completed fifth grade or is 11 years old, and is not yet 18.
